15/52: Eyes- Variations in Genetics

I am always amazed at how similar, yet different my boys are. I have four boys, two with brown eyes, and two with blue. Yet they are all unique shades of those colors. Jed's eyes are exactly like mine. A medium brown color, nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing spectacular.

Malachi's eyes are also brown, but they are a deep dark brown. You have to look very closely to see his pupil hiding there. These suit his tan complexion perfectly.

Westley has beautiful light blue eyes. I love that we spelled his name the same as the character in "The Princess Bride" and he was born with "eyes like the sea after a storm." Plus, he has adorable freckles, like his mama!

Ashton, also has blue eyes, but his are bright and striking. He is by FAR our kid with the lightest complexion. He has, what we fondly call, the red head gene. I have a lot of family members with red hair, and they all agree that he fits in with them well!

It is amazing to me that they are all so different, but when you look at them side by side , there is no mistaking that they are siblings. Plus, the way that they love each other so fiercely is evident too!
