My name is Danielle and I am the owner and photographer at Tiny Turtles Photography. I have had a passion for photography as long as I can remember. I have a vivid memory from when I was a little girl posing my Barbie dolls for a photoshoot with a disposible film camera my parents had given me! This was only the begining of a lifelong love for beautifully composed pictures. Becoming a mom challenged my photographic skills and pushed me to learn how to capture pictures of my own family. Having four BOYS has challenged me even further because they don't sit still. Ever. You can rest assured that nothing your kiddos do while at a photo session will surprise me! I've seen it all and it's ok. Kids will be kids and I am a firm believer that in years to come, when your kids have grown, you will think most fondly of the fun moments together. I can capture those tiny moments for you to remember forever.

When you book a session with me I will send you a survery asking you all sorts of questions about you and your family! I thought it was only fair to let you get to know me a little bit too. So, here are some fun facts about me!

  • I gave my life to Christ when I was 15 years old. God has blessed me and my family more that I could ever communicate in words.

  • Mark and I have been married for 14 wonderful years! I was 19 when we got married and it was the BEST decision of my life. He's hands down the best friend I could ever ask for.

  • We have four handsome, rambunctious, crazy boys.

  • My older sister, Rebekah, lives with my family, she is profoundly disabled. She has the mental capacity of an 18 month old. Rebekah gets on the bus for St. Madeline's Sophie Center (a day program for adults with disabilities) at 6:30 AM on week days and comes home at 2:45. Let's just say that when she's home, she keeps me on my toes.

  • We have one tiny (box) turtle names Miss. O'Neal who we adore.

  • My family occasionally indulges in strange hobbies, like raising quail, because our yard isn't zoned for chickens and we want fresh, happy eggs. I have been called a quail doula.

  • I am the youngest of 4 kids. My sister Rebekah and I have 2 older brothers, one of whom designed my awesome turtle logo. Thanks Kris!

  • If you have any questions about Pokemon, Legos, or Disneyland I can probably answer them for you.

  • I am a San Diego native, I don't think my signature Converse would hold up quite as well anywhere else.

  • I was a Girl Scout until I graduated High School. The biggest lesson I learned was to not pack more than I can carry myself in one trip. This skill has come in handy for in home newborn sessions. You will think that I am showing up with my entire studio and then I won't let you help me.

  • I have a BA in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences from SDSU, with an emphasis in Education of the Deaf.

  • I am an avid volunteerer (for lack of a better word). I just can't say no! I volunteer at my boys' school, our church, Cub Scouts, and taking photos for the Tiny Footprints Project.

It is with great sadness that I must inform you that Tiny Turtles Photography will be closed until further notice. It may be only for the rest of 2019, or it may be longer. I have every intention to return when life settles down some and I can dedicate more of my time and energy to my beautiful clients. Please sign up for the Tiny Turtles Photography *Secret* Mailing List to be one of the first to know when I am back in business.

So much love,

Danielle
